August 15th, the Riviera 31 Lounge Bar, Sofitel
On August 15th guests, models and press joined the legendary designer of Mister Triple X (@mistertriplex) and founder of Art Hearts Fashion (@artheartsfashion) Erik Rosete as well as Erin and Sarah Whitaker, co-founders of Parker Whitaker Productions to celebrate life and fashion at Summer Giving 2015, a swimwear fashion show, cocktail party, and hair cutting event benefiting the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program and American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. During the event Erik Rosete and model Dionte Holloway had their hair cut off to show support for American Cancer Society. Erik donated his hair in honor of his father who passed away from cancer 10 years ago. Dionte was happy to dedicate the whole haircut process to his mother Latanya Darensburg who is a cancer survivor. Latanya personally cut her son’s hair he had been taking care of since college.
Besides red carpet and hair cutting event everyone could enjoy an amazing fashion show later that night. Lolli Swim (@lolliswim) and Kandyshop Bikinis (@kandyshopbikinis) opened the fashion show for Erik Rosete’s Spring/Summer 2016 VorteX Collection. Celebrity makeup artist Erik Torppe (@eriktorppe) led the team of makeup artists and Salon Teez styled the models’ hair. The talented artist Joel Alvarez // The Black Tape Project (@blacktapeproject1) put pieces of electric and black tape on the Mr Triple X models to give them sophisticated look.
The show was featured by the performance of celebrity DJ Ralph Rieckermann (Scorpions).
We talked to Erik Rosete to learn more about the event and his Swim collection:
Svetlana K: I know tonight you are going to present your new Swim collection…
Erik R: Yes, tonight I’m going to present my VorteX collection that I showed during Miami Swim Week. This time we collaborated with the Black Tape Project, so it’s going to be a lot of sexy black tape accent on our models. Tonight’s event also benefits the American Cancer Society in partnership with Pantene Beautiful Lengths, so my hair will be cut off completely.
Svetlana K: Could you reveal some details on your show in Miami?
Erik R: We were opening the Art Hearts Fashion show at Miami Swim Week, it was our first time there. We ended up showing five designers, with my collection opening it and Furne Amato closing it. It was a really amazing presentation that we had because we were competing with a lot of big events and we actually ended up getting all the press, we made it on Fashion TV. We will be doing New York Fashion in a couple weeks.
Svetlana K: Who is your potential client?
Erik R: The swimwear that I created this season is inspired by the film Barbarella, so you gonna see a lot of metallic, a lot of sexy, a lot of nothing because it is all about models and their beauty. The type of people wearing my collections is from younger generation. Next week I will be on America’s Next Top Model, the whole episode is dedicated to Mr Triple X.
Svetlana K: When can we catch this episode?
Erik R: On Wednesday, August 18th, it will be the episode called “Mr Triple X Challenge”. You will see all of the models wearing Mister Triple X. It was great, I got to dress 22 models and I got to develop relationships with the models. So, now, if you look on the CW or online, you can see the commercials from my episode. Also, the episode will air internationally in over 150 countries and will be one of the biggest networking that Mr Triple X has done today. It is really exciting.
Svetlana K: How can we buy your clothes?
Erik R: Right now you can go to mistertriplex.com. We are also setting a Shopify account, so people can start buying it because before that we were doing mostly runway pieces and custom order.
SK: How can we follow you
Erik R: We are on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook #MisterTripleX
