LA Events: Chinese New Year Parade and Festival 2016 – Year Of The Monkey

On Saturday, February 13, 2016 Angeleno’s celebrated the Year of a Monkey at the Chinese New Year Festival along with the 117th Golden Dragon Parade and the 38th Annual LA Chinatown Firecracker Show commencing at Hill and Ord Street and concluding at Broadway and Cesar Chavez, in Chinatown, Los Angeles, CA.
The Chinese New Year Festival was produced by Chinatown Business Improvement District in collaboration with the following partners: KCRW 89.9, Los Angeles Chinatown Corporation, ChungKing Plaza Association and BuzzBandsLA.
The Spring Festival also known as the Chinese New Year was celebrated with a time to honor ancestors, family, and heavenly deities. Chinese New Year is a long-running family tradition and a festive, loud, holiday with vibrant decorations, dance performances, fireworks, parade, kids activities, lots of food and incredibly fun holiday to enjoy, even if you aren’t Chinese.
