Kim and Khloe Kardashian, who are Armenian descent, somberly placed bouquets of red tulips by the eternal flame of the memorial complex at the Tsitsernakabed, outside the nation’s capital of Yerevan, Armenia on Friday, May 10, 2015 honoring and paying respects to their ancestors, the 1.5 million victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, the Christian massacre by the Muslim Ottoman Empire at the beginning of the 20th Century. “We have not forgotten our roots.” Kardashian mentioned earlier.

Kanye West joined the reality TV star sister along with the Kardashians cousins, Kourtni and Kara. It was a somber and emotional afternoon for the sister where at some point Khloe K was even seen wiping tears away as she stood in silence while Suren Manukian, the deputy director of the Genocide Institute explained to them about this tragic historic event.

The Kardashian sisters looked gorgeous in monochrome jumpsuits however,  everyone else in attendance at the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex were wearing all black. In many cultures, it is traditionally disrespectful to wear bright colors (especially red) to memorials or even funeral, because it gives the impression that one is celebrating or is happy.
